Just north of the Oro-Medonte/Severn County line is a quaint welcoming neighborhood filled with famillies young and old, large or small....the Community of Marchmont.
Walking through the neighborhoods of Marchmont and depending on the time of year, you will hear the sounds of children playing...sometimes yelling, dogs barking...sometimes playing, neighbors chatting, lawnmowers and tractors, ski-doos echoing, snowblowers working away, horns honky hello or good bye as they make their way through, visitors passing through slowly taking in the scenery or on their way to the David Beckett Art Gallery located in the centre of Marchmont and so much more.
Just 5 minutes outside of Orillia, Marchmont is 15 minutes from Horseshoe Valley Ski Resort and Adventure Park and 25 minutes from Moonstone/Mount St. Louis. Close enough to drive into the City of Orillia, visit the Stephen Leacock Museum, enjoy the waterfront of Couchiching Park, enjoy productions at the Opera House in Downtown Orillia along with all the unique shops and restaurants, visit Casino Rama, bike or walk the many trails throughout the Oro-Medonte & Severn areas or golf the many courses that Simcoe has to offer.
The Community of Marchmont is beautiful all year around and the echoing of nature can be heard as clear as a crystal on some nights....we are very fortunate to have this community within a larger wonderful County and be part of the story of the Severn Township.
